We Are Encouraging Our Youths To Be Productively Engaged Says Onyeme
Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme, FCA, has said that the Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration is encouraging the youths in the state to be positively engaged.
The deputy governor made the disclosure on Wednesday in Asaba when members of the Junior Chambers International (JCI) paid him a courtesy visit.
According to him, government is aware of the huge population of youths in the state and it is committed to encouraging the youths to be positively engaged.
He said, “our governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori is very much interested in the development of our youths and he is doing everything possible to empower them.
“Between yesterday and today, over 97,000 youths were given empowerment package.
“A very large majority of Deltans are on the youthful side, and therefore, for economic, social and political reasons, it is beneficial for any government to be on the same page with this larger majority of the population.”
Earlier, the National President of Junior Chambers International, JCI, Ambassador Sandra Efemuaye said that the visit was to inform Governor Oborevwori and Sir Onyeme about the activities of JCI.
