THE Executive Assistant to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State on Health Monitoring, Dr. (Pharm.) Nelson Ejakpovi, has said that celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ should be for everyone.
Ejakpovi stated this on Christmas day as he presented food items to fellow citizens.
He said, “we thank God that in this season of love, we put smiles on the faces of persons. Remember, our neighbours are the closest we have seen God since He made man in His Own Image.
“Christmas is for us to show love, a time to render assistance, giving out food items to people; with such, no one will have reason not to have food on his or her table during this period.”
Asked if what he was doing was political, Dr Ejakpovi said, “politics? We all belong to the PDP in Delta State, so, there is no room for discrimination in what we are giving.
“Our Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, is our leader in the PDP, is he empowering only members of the PDP? The governor has constructed a lot of roads, are the roads being used by only PDP members? What about the airport, the secretariat complex that was inaugurated by one of the leaders of All Progressives Congress (APC), Vice President Yemi Osinbajo? The health insurance scheme and all others? It is not about party, it is about making Deltans better and more prosperous.
“So, what we are doing is to add to what our Governor is doing by putting smiles on the faces of the people; when you link it to politics, it will look as if there are other political parties in Delta, Delta belongs to the PDP and it will remain so for a long time.
“Making the people happy is not also limited to Christmas season, it is continuous that is why we should support our Governor to succeed because he is focused and working for a better Delta State.”
