As cases of Covid-19 continues to rise in Nigeria, a Catholic Priest, Rev. Fr. John Konyeke has urged the people not to despair but seek the face of God.
Fr. Konyeke who is the Parish Priest of St. John Bosco Catholic Church, Asaba stated that people should not despair as God still answers prayers.
According to the Priest in a message he circulated, God has not changed and He is bigger than all challenges.
“He said, “Pilgrim, whatever threatens you affects the Almighty God that you worship and serve.
“Stop being afraid because you have a Great God. Chi Ukwu.
“In the book of 1 Kings Chapters 18 and 19: The Threat of a Man vs the Help of God, in a well coordinated way, King Sennacherib threatens Jerusalem through King Hezekiah in this way:
“What are you trusting in that makes you so confident? Do you think that mere words can substitute for military skill and strength?
“And in verse 24, ‘With your tiny army, how can you think of challenging even the weakest contingent of my master’s troops, even with the help of Egypt’s chariots and their Charioteers?
“The Scripture records that, that same night, what/who threatened Hezekiah was no more, he never lived after the threat.
“God awaits you, He knows what to do; do you have the faith like Hezekiah who took the threat letter to the Church? Do the same, seek the face of God, don’t despair and He will answer you in miraculous ways.”
